The Oriental Institute

The Oriental Institute of the M S University, Vadodara was conceived in 1893 by the Great Visionary Maharaja Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad III (1863-1939) and established on 1^st September 1927. The Institute focuses on the collection of manuscripts most of which are rare, important andfrequently illustrated, the preservation of these manuscripts and the rare and important books that have been donated to them.
